  1. "The Spirit of the Flowers" photography exhibit

    Tatyana Gluzberg is the featured photographer at the Waccamaw Library for the months of May and June 2021. Her exhibit, "The Spirit of the Flowers" will be on display at the library during that time. Having dedicated 35 years of her life to a medical careers as a physician and 8 years to the U.S. Army, where she retired as a Major, Gluzberg never thought she would one day become an artist. Yet she discovered solace and healing power in the beauty of flowers that she recorded through her photographic art.

    The Friends of the Waccamaw Library (FOWL) present Blossoms for Books, a fundraiser benefitting the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library. Celebrate Spring with visits to 8 local gardens. The tour begins at the Waccamaw Library, where ticketholders can pick up wristbands and maps. Carpooling is encouraged. ***Rain Date is Sunday, May 23***

Public Services

  1. District 7 Litter Cleanup

    May 22, 2021, 9:00 AM @ Plantersville, Pee Dee, Choppee, Oatland, Dunbar, Lanes Creek and Browns Ferry. Volunteers should meet in the community park in each of those areas.

    Volunteers are needed for a communitywide litter cleanup in County Council District 7. Trash bags, litter grabbing tools, safety vests and gloves will be provided for all participants. Volunteers are asked to wear brightly colored clothing, long pants and closed-toe shoes for additional safety.
